mon petit chou
So I was telling Jen how in French mon petit chou is a term of endearment. When I told her the direct translation was my little cabbage I asked her how that would make her feel if a guy called her that. Her response was, "Like a sexy piece or sauerkraut!" I laughed hysterically. Now I need to learn how to say that in French in case I ever get the opportunity to respond to such a statement.

Homeward bound
Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it! Boldness has genii's power and magic in it.
I'm in the airport in Houston waiting for my flight home and came across this quote in my notebook. Don't know where I found it or who it's by, but I still love it so I know why I wrote it down.
This trip has been so much fun though. Got to see some if the coolest thunder storms, explore Carlsbad caverns, see Roswell's UFO museum, explore San Antonio, see the galleria in Houston, see alligators, my first fireflies, and went to the beach off the gulf of mexico before it became coated with oil(I have a sunburn to prove the last). I am excited to go home though. I need to start packing my stuff and moving it to storage and the lake. I'm going up for memorial weekend and I'll help Jinnie set up her computer then. I also need to clean uphe apartment and talk to my mom about the garage sale we were going to have in June. Basically there is a lot for me to do in the next month. Jeanne was helping me with my french though and I have a whole new set of vocabulary words to practice now, and some are rather interesting. Mon petit chou is a term of endearment in france. It actually means my little cabbage. How's that for a sweet nothing. I still have trouble hearing some of the pronunciations which I feel just proves I need to use my programming more frequently. I'll get there though, of that inhabe no doubt. Just give me time! Well were prepping to board, so I'll write more later! Au revoir.

Traveling
So I'm sitting on a plane heading down to Houston, Texas. I can't lie, I'm pretty stoked, even if my friends think I'm nuts for wanting to go to Texas. Jeanne's going to pick me up from the airport and well head straight out for Roswell, New Mexico. Cause really, why stop at adding just one more state to my list when I can add two! I'm really excited to see the UFO museum and the carlsbad caverns. I hear they're supposed to be really neat.
I'm also currently reading an interesting book my mom gave yesterday called "the gift of fear." It's all about learning to listen to and trust your intuition to save your life. We had just been talking about this at finders keepers the other day too, as Deena has the most uncanny feelings and instincts I have ever seen.
Like the time the lady made off with around three of our dresses and a purse. Hours later Deena was walking by a line of cars and stated she just felt warm and knew there was something up. When she looked inside one, there on the passenger seat were the stolen items. She tracked the girl down store to store and drug her back to her car and made the girl pay for them. But, how many people can claim having something like that happen to them. She gets feelings like that about people in general too, and shell just give you a look and you know no to let the person out of your sight in the store.
Mine have always been much more subdued, I'm definitely not the best judge of character, but even I can claim having moments that I look back and say I had a feeling I should or should not have done that. The book states that our biggest problem as humans is we discout this feeling and then proceed to search for logical reasons solely to not trust ourselves. Very interesting look toward humans, particularly Americans and western civilizations.

Jeanne, Nick and I are in the car on the drive back to Houston. Technically tonight were only going to go about an hour to Carlsbad and well go the other nine hours tomorrow after we see the caverns. Rather excited for that, even though we don't get to take the rope-you-up version because it's only offered in the afternoon. It's been a rather nice drive so far. We stayed in San Antonio last bight and did the river walk and cruise. We didn't see the Alamo, but we were within a block of it. Jeanne says it is super small and not worth the time other than a walk past. None the less I gave a cursory "remember the Alamo!"
This morning in the car Gina and I practiced French in he car for about half the trip. Once we got to Roswell and picked up Nick, they left me at the UFO museum. It was rather interesting though I don't believe it was an alien. I definitely think something happened, likely governmental, but I don't think it was aliens. At least not in that instance...
