Finally

So after 5 years, I am finally a college graduate. Woot! We'll ignore that it was a very long, very hot ceremony in the sun dressed all in black. Really I paid attention to nothing except when it was going to be over, but that's okay, cause it is over!

What was interesting though was that of our original music theory class as beginning music majors of 45 or so. Jim, Will, Karmen and I are the only 4 who graduated this year. Everyone else has been at Eastern longer. That's quite a downsize for us. This photo is all the music graduates for this year except Will, Karmen, Andrea, and Theresa who came within the next 5 minutes, and Dani who didn't walk. We have all had some great times together though. We spent the whole walk to the football field singing "We Are the Champions" at the top of our lungs, and then proceeded to create new harmonies to go along with "Pomp and Circumstance." I'm fairly certain we managed to bother quite a few other people with this, but it kept us sane!

So, I have totally slacked off on writing yet again. Just thought about it the other day and figured I should probably try to get myself back into the habit again. That is if you could call my random and sporadic posts a habit. That's okay though. I finished school, that's rather exciting. Graduation is on Saturday. I'm excited to see Leslie, can't believe she's flying up from LA. I look forward to seeing her.

The lake was beautiful this week, as per usual. I can't wait til we get the boat in the water. I want to break in the new surfboard. Other than that, life is pretty normal. Just keep plugging along.

Another beautiful day. Yesterday I picked up my car from Dee's and he didn't charge me for the repairs. Then I went to Starbucks this morning, and when I got up to the window, the lady informed me the guy in the car in front of mine had paid for me. Then I went to get my roof fixed and they didn't charge me for my repair either! And while I waited for it to get fixed I went and read in the park. It is so beautiful outside again! 75 degrees! Can't go wrong with that. I also went to the Viking for dinner tonight with Steph. It was as delicious as I had been hoping for. Good food is always good. Yum. I am loving this week!

Another Beautiful Day!

Spring is finally here, hurrah! I love being able to bike around again and wear shorts. Makes such a difference in you're perspective on life. Everyone on campus was in a good mood today. And to top it off I got a gyro, my car back from the shop, and got my new instrument from the Thompson's today (they were bringing it back from Portland for me since it wouldn't fit in my carry on). Life is good this week. Big words on a Monday.

It was definitely First Weekend in Cheney though. Somehow a picnic bench ended up wedged in a bus stop. I'm guessing alcohol was likely involved.

It did not fit well. That trash can in there will never be quite the same again. Jen and I also wandered around Manito Park for a while at her request. It was so beautiful! We went up to the gazebo in the Zen Garden too, the one covered in ___ hearts____. Lost among the misplaced declarations of love, I did find one morsel worth keeping.

Palm Springs is beautifully warm I must say. I think I'm beginning to thaw out from the Pacific Northwest's winter ridiculousness. Portland wasn't much better weather wise, but it was still really good to see Heather, Brittany, and Jenn. We ended up spending most of the day at the Portland Zoo. It was a lot of fun and I really miss not having them around much anymore. I feel bad for Heather though, her CT completely messed up her student teaching, lied about what she had accomplished of her requirements, and won't let her back in the classroom. Now she can graduate, but she can't get her teaching certificate. It's pretty bad. Hopefully she'll get it all taken care of this year and not have to repeat her student teaching in the fall. Not especially pleased with Eastern either. For some unknown reason I have NC under my grade for student teaching...there better be a good reason because I did everything my observer and my handbook told me to do. I guess I'll find out when I get back. For now I'm just going to enjoy the sunshine.
