So as I'm digging through my box of electronics trying to find my microphone so I can work on my French program, I came across a stack of cassettes. Expecting to find the old birthday mixes my aunt used to make me I dug through them and found not only those, but also Ross Point mixes, Romeo and Juliet, and the crowning glory...There's a Hippo in my tub. So of course I had to pop in Hippo in my Tub for the old childhood memories, and realized I may have been influenced young in my childhood to my current predispositions in life.
I listened to this tape all the time, though I had forgotten the specific songs on the tape. There was a song encouraging you to play the saxophone and the kazoo, songs encouraging travel, especially by plane, and The Lion Sleeps Tonight, which is a song I regularly sing when I'm being silly(though I could also blame that song on Disney with the Lion King). Now I only wish I could find my Nicole tape, where each tape was directed towards a particular name so it was like they were interacting with you, which was the other tape I listened to all the time in my childhood. Makes you wonder how much of these things you may not remember could have really impacted who you become, and how many are ironic instances of happenstance.
